The social well-being in the country

The average achievements of a country in the development of important aspects of  the social well-being of the people can be measured.

To measure the social well-being of the people of a country,

it is common to look at three aspects: Life expectancy, literacy and infant mortality.

infant mortality

Life expectancy at birth is the average number of years a newborn infant is expected to live (if health and living conditions will remain the same throughout its life).

Literacy is the ability to read and write.

Infant mortality is the number of infants, out of every 1000 babies born in a year, who die before reaching the age of 1 year.

The information on these three aspects gives an impression about the quality of health care and the education facilities which are available in a country.
