The
social well-being in the country
|
The
average achievements
of a country in the development of important
aspects of the
social well-being of the people can be measured.
To
measure the social well-being of the people of a country,
it is common
to look at three aspects: Life expectancy, literacy and
infant mortality.

 |
Life
expectancy at birth |
|
 |
literacy
|
|
 |
infant mortality
|
|
Life expectancy at birth
is the average number of years a newborn infant is expected to live (if
health and living conditions will remain the same
throughout its life).
|
Literacy
is the ability to read and write.
|
Infant
mortality is the number of infants, out of every 1000 babies born in a year, who die before reaching
the age of 1 year.
|
| The information on
these three aspects gives an impression about the
quality of health care and the education
facilities which are available in a country. |
