Prices of foodstuffs

Foodstuffs are significant cheaper in developing countries than in Western Europe, Northern America or Japan. So are the prices of the products on  the public market in the Philippines.

From an American or Western European view-point the prices are low in the Philippines. For the majority of the Filipinos however, the products are not cheap. Their income (earnings) is low, so is their purchasing power

*  The prices of foodstuffs  in big cities differ from the prices in rural areas. Vegetables, fruit and fish are significant

cheaper in the rural areas and the regional cities and villages. The prices for meat and rice are about the same. On

the opposite, the prices for clothes and all kind of materials for the house, cars and boats, are more expensive in the

   rural areas.
